Florianopolis beaches, touristic areas and places to stay

Florianopolis can be found in southern Brazil and is known for it's great beaches, beautiful natural beauty and it's great surfing, which attracts both armatures and professionals for both leisure and competitions. The island city relies on tourism as its primary industry and thus has a booming industry to support all of the tourists that come to the city during the summer months.

Beaches are all around the island, Saquinho Beach is a small beach of white sand, rought seas and clear waters. It located in southern part of the island, with access to the gained through a trail from a nearby beach called Solidao Beach. The walk takes about twenty minutes and leads to this beautiful beach.

Solidao Beach was formally known as Rio das Pacas and sits in a small cove between Costa de Dentro beach and the above mentioned beach, Saquinho. Solidao beach is thought to be one of the most beautiful on the island, with white sand and clear waters surrounded by green mountains of the atlantic forest. At one end of the beach there is a waterfall that can used to cool off in, during the hot summer months and forms a clean natural pool of water at its base and offers children a great place to swim without entering the ocean.

Aside from the beautiful beaches there are many resorts that are also fantastic. The Costao Do Santinho, is centrally located, and offers all the amenities expected in a high class resort. With lots of pools, and good beach access, this resort has plenty to offer without ever leaving the confines of the resort.

Another possible option includes the Sofitel Florianopolis, which is located for both business and leisure guests, and has sports facilities, a jacuzzi, sauna and outdoor pool, with a combination of modern comfort. Lots of access to city makes it easy to dine out and wander the great city.

Ponta dos Ganchos is another great alternative, offering amazing views from their rooms, plenty of open beach access to calm clear waters and white sands. The relaxing resort has even won several awards for its amazing offerings.

Any trip to Florianopolis is always full of plenty of rest and relaxation. It’s one of those wonderful cities that has so much to offer, and has been setup so nicely for tourists and locals alike.
